Welcome to the Year 2 Class Page

Please see the Year 2 yearly overview to see all the exciting Topics we will be covering this year!

This year PE will take place on Tuesday and Thursday and children will need to come into school in their full kit on these days. Homework will be handed out on a Friday and children are expected to bring their homework book in on the following Friday. Homework is sometimes set using online portals such as MyMaths and Purple Mash.  Children are expected to read a minimum of 3 times per week but ideally 6 times, in order to achieve the expected standard by the end of the year. Information about your child’s reading /book change day will be recorded in their reading diary.

At the moment we cannot have an open door policy as we normally would due to the current environment.  However, we are always available at the end of the phone and will be happy to return calls when possible.  We aim to create a positive partnership to help your child have a successful learning journey in Year 2.

Mr Webb and the Year 2 Team

What's going on in Year 2?

Before the latest lockdown we started building bird boxes out of Lolly pop sticks. Over the next few weeks we will find suitable places to put them around school and will keep a close eye on them to see if we have any visitors. Pictures to follow once we have put them around the school.

Home Learning

I would just like to say a huge well done to the whole of Year 2 for all the amazing work you have put in during the home learning. Thank you to all the parents for the support you have provided during the lockdown. The work you put in is already showing in class. smiley

Check out some of our work so far!
